Happy 70th Birthday to the NHS from Gresleydale Healthcare Centre

Thursday 5th July 2018. Staff at the surgery with a lot of help from the Patient Participation Group, held an event to mark the 70th years the NHS has been in service.

A notice board was designed to represent the past and future of the NHS, highlighting the start of the NHS in 1948 by Aneurin Bevan to how it is today under Jeremy Hunt.

We displayed photos of our surgery when it was being built to how it is now as this is a fairly new build and patients found this interesting to see how it looked.

The Patient Participation group gave up some of their spare time to help other patients be aware of what services they can use as a patient i.e. book on line appointments and prescription ordering on line and any other questions they may have had.

A special 70th Birthday cake was cut by Senior Partner Dr Jennifer Redferne and our youngest, GP Dr Laura Welch. Cake was then distributed to patients coming into the surgery.

It was lovely to hear stories from staff and patients on what they have seen regards to all the changes in the NHS that have happened over the past 70 years.

A good time was had by all and pictures from the event can be viewed here.
