Policy for Dealing with Patients who Do Not Attend Appointments

If you are unable to attend an appointment for any reason please contact us as soon as possible to cancel it - this allows the appointment to be offered to another patient.

Patients who fail to attend appointments without cancelling will receive a letter from the surgery advising them of this and requesting that they either attend or cancel appointments in future.

Patients who repeatedly fail to attend appointments may be removed from our list and asked to register elsewhere.

Abusive or Violent Behaviour

We aim to treat our patients courteously at all times and expect our patients to treat our staff in a similarly respectful way. We take seriously any threatening, abusive or violent behaviour against any of our staff or patients. If a patient is violent or abusive, they will be warned to stop their behaviour. If they persist, we can exercise our right to have them removed, immediately if necessary, from our list of patients.
